Peach e~Books can be used to build background knowledge and to stimulate discussions with English Learners (ELs), primarily in grades K-5th. Peach e~Books provide visual and audio support in the areas of Social Studies and Environmental Education.
Georgia's Social Studies for elementary students are divided into four categories: Historical, Geographic, Government/Civic , and Economic Understandings.
In History, students study specific historical events, important people and their contributions to our country. In Geography, students study basic concepts about land and water features on Earth. In Civics, the way in which the United States' government operates is explained. In Economics, basic concepts about the ways in which we earn and spend money are introduced.
